Expander Troubleshooting Tips
Please note that these tips apply to both the bonded and banded expander (psa).
Can not find the hole on the expander:
    • Use a toothbrush/waterpick in the palate area to clear any trapped food out of the hole.
    • Make sure you complete the turn fully - there is a tendency to "reverse", or back up, the turn when removing the key. Turn the key until you see the next hole and then gently "flick" the key out from that position
    • Make sure you turn the key the full rotation. Turning halfway will cause the hole to get lost.

Below is an example of how the expander will look when the approximate number of turns are completed. You should be able to see the expansion if the expander is being turned properly.
