Dr. Allen graduated from the University of Illinois College of Dentistry in Chicago in 1981. He started a general dental practice in St. Louis, Missouri and practiced there as a general dentist for 9 years. In 1990, he moved to Louisville, Kentucky, entering a 2 year masters program in the specialty field of orthodontics. Dr. David Allen received his Master of Orthodontics from the University of Louisville in 1992, and now specializes in Orthodontics exclusively.

As the founder of Wheaton Orthodontic Center, in Wheaton Illinois, Dr. David Allen believes in reaching beyond his credentials by constantly updating his knowledge and skill through research and continuing education. He participates in and hosts numerous lectures and academic programs for doctors, clinical technicians and clerical staff, keeping pace with the most current advances in patient care.

Dr. Allen enjoys spending time with his family and is very involved with raising his children. He coaches various school sports and is involved with many school activities and programs.

Dr. Allen has been using the Damon System to straighten teeth since 1998.
